Fire Safe testing is crucial for industrial valves used in sectors like oil, gas, refining, and chemicals. Standards like API 607, API 6FA, BS 6755, and BS 5146 are recognized for conducting fire tests. Valtec offers Fire Safe certificates for 3pc ball valves (V-3WMH) and 2pc flanged ball valves (V-2F PN16/PN40V-2FH).

In industries such as oil, gas, refining, chemicals, and petrochemicals, industrial valves must ensure a secure closure in the event of a fire. Fire-safe design is a critical standard for these valves, ensuring they can withstand fire exposure without leaking or failing. The American Petroleum Institute (API) has established several standards for fire testing industrial valves, including API 607, ISO 10497, API 6FA, BS 6755, and BS 5146. These standards are widely recognized and used as benchmarks for conducting fire tests on valves.

Among these standards, API 607 and API 6FA are the most commonly used for conducting fire tests on industrial valves. API 607 specifies fire test criteria for quarter-turn valves and valves with nonmetallic seating under pressure. On the other hand, API 6FA outlines fire testing requirements for valves covered by API 6A and API 6D, specifically for valves with metal seating.

Fire-safe ball valves are typically tested to API 607, API 6FA, and BS 6755-Part 2 standards. Valtec offers Fire Safe certificates for specific ball valve models, including 3pc ball valves (V-3WMH) and 2pc flanged ball valves (V-2F PN16/PN40, V-2FH). Additionally, upon request, other valve models can be supplied with Fire Safe certificates.

Fire Safe testing ensures that industrial valves meet stringent safety standards, assuring their reliability and safety in critical applications where fire hazards are a concern.
