ATEX, short for "Atmosphères Explosibles," refers to the directive imposing specific obligations on those involved in making products available or putting products into service in potentially explosive atmospheres. Valtec obtained ATEX certification in 2016.

ATEX, derived from the French term "Atmosphères Explosibles," refers to the directive that imposes specific obligations on individuals or entities involved in making products available on the market or putting products into service in potentially explosive atmospheres. This directive applies to manufacturers, their authorized representatives, importers, and distributors.

The ATEX Directive 94/9/EC was withdrawn on 20 April 2016 when it was replaced by ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. Equipment for operation in hazardous areas must comply with the requirements of ATEX 2014/34/EU Directive and be suitably protected.

For Valtec, obtaining ATEX certification in 2016 was a significant achievement, demonstrating our commitment to producing equipment that meets the highest safety standards. This certification underscores our dedication to ensuring the safety of our products in potentially hazardous environments.
